I recently visited Texas Tulips in Pilot Point, Texas for one of my senior clients, Madison, and it turned out to be one of the most colorful spring sessions I have photographed in North Texas.
The moment we stepped into the fields it felt like walking into a painting. Rows of tulips stretched across the landscape in every direction. Reds, pinks, yellows, purples, and soft pastel shades filled the farm as far as the eye could see.
Golden hour started settling in as we moved deeper into the fields. The sunlight skimmed across the tops of the flowers and created the most beautiful glow across the entire farm. Every few rows the colors shifted, which meant the background changed constantly throughout Madison’s session.
One section of the fields felt soft and romantic with pale pink tulips. Another area was filled with bold reds and bright yellows that created a completely different look in her photos. That is one of the things I love most about photographing at Texas Tulips in Pilot Point. The scenery keeps changing as you move through the rows.
Madison looked stunning surrounded by all of that color. The entire session felt peaceful and relaxed as the sun slowly dropped behind the fields.
We finished the evening with a few sweet photos of Madison and her boyfriend Charles. The light had softened, the tulips were glowing behind them, and it felt like the perfect way to close the session.

Every year the farm plants over one million tulips across more than 12 acres, creating one of the most colorful landscapes you will see in North Texas. The process is simple. Grab a picking basket that is available out in the field, walk through the rows and choose the tulips you want, then bring them up when you are finished. You leave with fresh tulips and a really fun spring experience.
